Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS)

No Win No Fee CRPS Claims

Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS) also referred to as Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy (RSD) is a poorly understood pain condition in which a person experiences significant, persistent and often debilitating pain. The condition is often described as being the most painful chronic pain condition known to modern medicine. It can be lifechanging and often has a profound effect not only for the sufferer but also for their friends and family.

Many people with the condition describe severe burning pain, even though the rest of the injured limb feels cold. Changes in temperature are often linked with hypersensitivity, where even the lightest of touches can cause agonising pain. Linked to this, the sufferer may also experience swelling and changes in skin colour to the affected limb.

It is not known as to what actually causes CRPS, but it’s generally thought to be the result of the body reacting abnormally to an injury.

The National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke states that in 90% of cases CRPS is usually triggered by a clear history of trauma or injury:

This can involve

  • fractures,
  • strains or sprains,
  • cuts
  • burns
  • Limb immobilisation
  • Surgical/medical procedures

Anyone can get CRPS, it can start at any age and affect both men and women.

If you have been diagnosed with CRPS following trauma or injury as a result of someone’s negligence we can help you get the compensation you deserve.

Cromptons Solicitors have  specialist teams with the relevant expertise and knowledge to help you bring a successful claim for compensation.

Most, if not all of our CRPS claims are funded through a Conditional Fee Agreement also known more commonly as a No Win No Fee agreement. This means we’ll only take payment once we are successful in getting you your compensation. There is little or no financial risk to you if your claim is unsuccessful*
