Road Safety Week 2018 Bike Smart
This week is Road Safety Week 2018.
Road Safety Week is the UK’s biggest road safety event, coordinated annually by Brake, the road safety charity and runs from the 19 – 25 November 2018.
Cromptons Solicitors see first-hand the devastating effect speeding and road traffic accidents has on those involved in road traffic collisions whether as cyclist, drivers, passengers or even as pedestrians.
Cromptons Solicitors support this years road safety week initiative by Brake as more than a third of people killed or seriously injured on UK roads are those traveling by bike. Cyclists and motorcyclists are among the most vulnerable road users in the UK, with more than 100 riders injured every day in needless, preventable crashes. The dangers (and opportunities) posed by bicycles and motorcycles are distinct but those on two wheels are united by the urgent need to reduce their risk of death and injury on our roads.

Smart drivers are responsible and considerate of other road users, particularly those traveling on two wheels. Brake has produced a short, animated film to show how taking a few simple steps to be Bike Smart will make you a much smarter driver, and will help make roads much safer for those on two wheels.
